Pertwood’s Commitment to Environmental Conservation: How You Can Get Involved

Pertwood Organic Farm has been a champion of environmental conservation for many years. With its stunning landscapes, rich wildlife, and ancient history, it’s no surprise that the team at Pertwood has made it their mission to preserve and protect the land.

At Pertwood, environmental conservation is not just a buzzword. It’s a way of life. The farm is home to several different initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint and improving sustainability.

One of the keyways Pertwood is working towards environmental conservation is through its farming practices. Pertwood is constantly striving to not only helps to protect the land and its wildlife but also provides healthier, better-tasting cereals.

In keeping our commitment, Lower Pertwood Farm has acquired several neighbouring farms in recent years, some of which are not organic. These are currently being farmed conventionally with a view of converting them to organic status once the regulatory environment is in place to encourage that transition.

Pertwood also focuses on sustainable land use, with careful planning and management of its fields and meadows. We plant wildflowers to provide food and shelter for pollinators, like bees and butterflies, and rotate crops to maintain soil health.

Another initiative is the farm’s multiple beehives that have been placed on the farm. Bees play a crucial role in pollination and the overall health of ecosystems. Pertwood has several beehives on the farm and works to create a welcoming environment for wild bees, too. We do not harvest any honey from the wild bee colonies, ensuring that the bees have plenty of food to survive and thrive.

If you’re interested in getting involved in environmental conservation efforts, there are several ways you can support Pertwood Organic Farm. You can start by choosing organic produce and supporting sustainable farming practices. You can also take a tour of the farm to learn more about its conservation efforts or volunteer with one of its programs or contact us for more information.

In conclusion, Pertwood Organic Farm is a shining example of how environmental conservation can be incorporated into everyday life. Its commitment to sustainable practices, organic farming, and beekeeping is admirable, and everyone can take part in supporting these efforts. Let’s all do our part to protect the planet for future generations.
